Fiancee’s dad texted me a picture of the gas cap from his ‘05 Mustang GT ‘vert. He hasn’t driven it in a few months. I told him to burn it to the ground.

Spray some Raid and slam it shut. Let them cook in the stuff.

It was a nice car. Too bad it has to go to the crusher now.
Bees don’t bother me in the least but wasps freak me the fuck out.

super glad we dont have those fucking things up here. They are drawn to my father something fierce. I saw him jump in the pool and stay under for a minute with all his clothes on because he messed with a yellowjacket nest in our wood pile.

Apparently there are a nest of them in my back yard next to our wheelbarrow. I found this out as I went to get the wheelbarrow and was met by 1,000 angry hornets. I beat feet around the front of the house, through the gate and into the front door. Fucking hornets.

The Ortho Home Defense Max stuff sprays out like a cannon...like you can spray it 10 feet or something. I have to wander around the property a couple times a year and spray the nests down. Wasps die almost instantly and fall from the sky. It’s kind of awesome.

Just get some bug spray. Since they didn't fly out when he opened the door they're in what I call protection mode. They won't leave the nest unless provoked more so than usual. That means when you spray them they'll be dying before they can get angry and attack as long as you don't miss.

To kill the bugs or eat right through the paint? Cause it’ll do both....

Or just use regular spray and flip the door shut *fast* and run away.

I had to replace the window in my car and wasps had built a nest in the door jamb. I removed the nest, but all during the operation, I had to keep stop working suddenly to spray wasps that kept trying to return to the nest. Oddly enough, never got stung, but I fully expected to.

The paint in the gas filler area is not really visible, but even then, if you clean it up after words you’d probably be ok.

Bees aren’t cute cuddly and fluffy... They’re still assholes and hurt kind of bad (and if you’re allergic, can be deadly). That said, they are necessary for many things we like.
But nice creatures they are not.

Do the nozzles have the provisions to fit the tube from a can of WD40 in it? If so, you don’t even have to open the door.

Buckfast bees (common honeybees) are docile enough you can pet them. Occasionally you get a hive that’s waspy but usually they’re friendly little fuckers. (source: close friend is an expert on pollinator health and keeps bees)
For sure, downside to bees is allergies and the poison sack. At least with a wasp, the sting does really react or swell; like getting pricked by a sewing needle. (source: got stung by a wasp a few weeks ago)

Hmm alright. I’m not a bee expert so I’ll take your friends word for it. The only bees I’ve ever seen and dealt with were not that docile though, not even close. Interesting that there are some variants that are that mild mannered though.

Raid and a few others offer sprays up to 25ft, and are pretty effective, but run out pretty quickly. Last year I used Ace Hardware’s version of Raid Wasp & Hornet for like $2 each and were pleasantly effective.

I got to burn a nest with an acetylene torch last Saturday. Abandoned, though, which is bullshit. I wanted casualties.

Thanks for the heads up. I wasn’t sure if I should post in your thread about wieners and gonads or not since my friend already posted a specific thread.
Thanks for the authorship!
(PS: If there’s any specific etiquette rules/posts I can read up on, lemme know.)

Wow!!!
Just last week I almost set a gas pump on fire because it had a tarantula in it. I was calibrating the flowmeter and it was the old-school dial type that needed an adjustment, I pulled the cover off and NOPE'd right the hell out of there...
